Talent Community Case Study

HOW WE TACKLED THE BRIEF GIVEN TO US

Bank

Brief

A multibillion dollar global investment bank felt it’s gender-diversity programs were falling short, especially in the C-suite and was tasked with installing programs in place that truly addressed the issue. The company recognised it would have to recruit and develop large numbers of highly skilled managers and specialists to deliver on the company vision and therefore asked WhiteCrow to help shape a comprehensive talent and leadership strategy that would include diversity at it’s core.

WhiteCrow’s initial brief was to understand the gender composition of 7 competitor investment banks, across 4 countries and 8 operating divisions.

Deliverables

The first step was to identify females in the target organisations who had the skills and experience profile required by the client.

This was achieved through a combination of desk-based research, and anonymous telephone research to build accurate intelligence and market insight.

Results

As well as deep competitor insight we were also able to draw clear conclusions about those banks leading the way in hiring for diversity, and those lagging behind. Importantly, for the first time, this organisation had evidence that allowed them to judge how far they needed to go in the diversity stakes. WhiteCrow worked with the client to create a communications strategy with high touch to low touch approaches according to readiness to move. With an established female talent pool now in play not only are internal diversity targets being met but hiring is now a faster, simplified and much more cost-effective process.
